ICM is looking for an MR physicist to develop and implement MR research projects primarily on its 7 Tesla / Siemens MR whole body (82cm) actively shielded system. This position will focus primarily on the 7T human scanner, but work will be possible on other scanners as well.

The position is at the Institute of Brain and Spinal cord (ICM) in Pitie-Salpetriere hospital in Paris, France.

ICM is a new neuroscience center located in the heart of the largest neurological hospital in France. The ICM will associate in the same site patients, researchers and physicians: 800 permanent researchers and 25,000m² of laboratories. ICM will regroup complementary expertise from clinicians, engineers and researchers in neuroscience. ICM has a unique neuroimaging platform comprised of a 7T whole body actively shielded and two whole body 3T Siemens magnets, as well as an 11.7T Bruker system for small animals, human MEG / EEG and MR compatible optical imaging and TMS systems.

ICM is looking for an MR physicist to develop and implement MR research projects primarily on its 7 Tesla / Siemens MR whole body (82cm) actively shielded system. This position will focus primarily on the 7T human scanner, but work will be possible on other scanners as well.

Required qualifications

PhD in physics, biomedical engineering, neuroscience or equivalent

Solid knowledge of MR physics

Solid knowledge of MR hardware: RF coils, gradients, pulse sequences.

Ability to develop and implement pulse sequences and methods on a MR scanner

Good scientific writing and presentation skills

Good interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred qualifications

Postdoctoral experience

Knowledge of Siemens MR programming (IDEA)

Experience in high field MR

Experience with multi transmission, B1 shimming, transmit sense

Language

English
